John Thoe

John Thoe hails from a country where rugged beauty and magnificent scenery are abundant and accessible. His Scandinavian heritage was a strong influence in his early fascination with furniture and wood where having native examples of Scan ingenuity and design surrounded him. John started carving at the age of seventeen and has continued to explore and develop his style. He has worked in Baroque, Rococo and now freestyle. His themes often hearken back to the natural world with each delicately carved flower or leaf a tribute to his origins.
His work today is a culmination of the knowledge he gained through study and practical experience and his appreciation for his heritage. The Scandinavian people are known for their resilience, their warm character and ambience, all traits that Johns furniture exhibit.
