The 2011 Box and Container Show at Northwest Fine Woodworking is our 32nd Annual event!
The Box 32nd Annual Box & Container Show is open to amateur and professional woodworkers across the US. It is held during the busiest time of year at Northwest Fine Woodworking and has become a beloved destination for holiday shoppers in the Seattle region.
Rules:
Items must open and close in some manner, be constructed primarily of wood, be for sale and be new to the competition.
Completed applications are due by Saturday September 2nd 2011.
This is a juried show; artists will be notified if their work is accepted by September 30th.
Show opens November 3rd and runs through to January 31st 2012.
People’s Choice is voted for by our customers. The NWFW Jury and staff select 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention.
There is no application or entry fee.
How to apply to the show:
Step One:
Fill out the application form below or email the gallery to be sent the information directly. Please complete one form for each submission. Up to 5 items may be submitted for consideration.
Step Two:
Email images of the boxes being submitted for consideration to:
director@nwfinewoodworking.com with your name and Box Show in the subject line
Please include a copy of your resume and biographical statement if available.
Optional: For publicity purposes, please mail a CD with high res, printable images (300 dpi and 4" x 6" or larger) to:

Prizes:
First Place - $300.
Second Place - $200.
Third Place - $100.
People's Choice- $200.
Guidelines:
Images: Acceptance of your work will be based on the images submitted. Please send 1-3 clear, in-focus images with neutral backgrounds. Professional quality images sent before August 1st will be considered for immediate publicity purposes, so early entry form submissions are encouraged.
Shipping and Delivery: Work that is accepted in to the show must be received at the gallery no later than October 15th. Items that are shipped should be well packed, documented with artist's name, and insured. NWFW reserves the right to reject any piece, that when received, shows any defects in workmanship, design, or quality of construction. Items can be delivered in person during normal business hours, please contact us ahead of time to arrange delivery of large items. Items that do not sell in the course of the show will be return-shipped at the artist's expense or arrangements can be made to have the work picked up.
Contract: A signed non-member contact must be on file to show your work at the gallery. This contract covers our consignment and shipping terms. Contract is available upon request. We will not accept; "rustic" or unfinished pieces, antiques, imported items or items from countries outside of the USA or Canada, mass produced or factory made items, items of poor quality or construction, items of poor design or function, or items obtained or created through illegal means (copyright violation etc.).
